How to make </prosody> and </phoneme> work at th

Hi,

I am a Mac OS X 6.x user, and am trying to create sounds (with David) that can be possible English words but are not in the lexicon of English.

I accessed the <lexicon.txt> and wrote a line like this:

wordname 0 r ow1 z ih0 n

Now, on the Terminal, if I write a command line like:

swift -n David "wordname"

the sound I want is produced. However, in addition to this, I want to add a sound effect that slows down its speed. I know </prosody rate=x-slow> is the one to be used, but I cannot make it worked ... The lexicon.txt denies this command, and it seems that I cannot use this command in a combination with </phoneme> on Terminal.

I'd appreciate it if anyone could tell me how to control these elements.

One cannot embed commands into the user lexicon. Only phoneme sequences in the prescribed format may be embedded in the user lexicon file. SSML and SAPI tags can be embedded in the text that is being read, but not in the lexicon file.
