Cepstral's Text-to-Speech engine is ideal for Telephony applications of all flavors, from open source PBX solutions to enterprise and carrier grade installations. Cepstral voices satisfy a wide range of requirements. Our products are: standards compliant, scalable, multilingual, cross-platform, customizable, natural, and cost effective.

Cepstral's TTS voices are tested on all major telephony platform operating systems including: Windows Server, Windows XP, Linux (32 & 64 bit), Solaris (Sparc and x86), and Mac (PowerPC and Intel). All these packages are available for trial download; as well, we offer specific 8 kHz Telephony voices.

Cepstral conforms to many of the leading standards including MRCP, SAPI, and SSML. Through our partners, Cepstral fits with VoiceXML platforms and other proprietary architectures too. More information is available for:

  • MRCP - Cepstral's partner, IEC, provides an MRCP server for use with Cepstral voices.
  • VXML 2.0 - Cepstral's partner, IEC, offers SSP, a full featured IVR platform.
  • SSML - Industry specification for Speech Synthesis Markup Language.
  • SAPI - While not a standard, a link to the de-facto Microsoft Speech API.
Open Source Telephony software is a fast growing vertical application space. Cepstral is proud to be the leading TTS vendor to the Open Source community. Open source PBX developers such as Digium, Asterisk, and FreeSwitch offer wrappers for Cepstral voices. (*Cepstral does not maintain open source code and any links to such code are neither guaranteed nor supported.)

  • Digium - Creators of Asterisk who offer value added distributions and tested Cepstral integration.
  • FreeSwitch - Makers of a new carrier-grade open source telephony switch.
